Ingredients

  • 4 Cod Fillets
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1 Cup Beer
  • Vegetable Oil For frying
  • 4 Large Potatoes cut into fries

Instructions

  • Mix the flour, baking powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Slowly pour the beer while whisking until the batter becomes smooth and lump-free.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off, then carefully place it into the hot oil. Fry until the fish turns golden brown and crispy, approximately 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • In a separate pan, fry the potato fries until golden brown and crispy—season with salt to taste.
  • Serve your delicious fish and chips on a platter, garnished with a sprig of parsley or a squeeze of lemon for an extra zing.
